Welcome to the Arid Zone - it's been a long, strange trip.
Work and organization
Well what a week it has been!
For those of you not 'in the know' I started a new job this week working for the Arizona Foundation of the Handicapped. I help mentally challenged individuals live life to the fullest they are able. I had three days of training this week combined with three days of actually working... in five days.
:-D fun
Actually it isn't as bad as it sounds; but I haven't been able to do much but work recently. I also have a job on Saturdays driving clients for a real estate company back to their motel. I usually do an 8 or 9 hour shift on Saturdays: today I worked about 10.
I can use the money...
So what I have to do is reorganize my life...
Okay I lied. There is no 're' about it; I have to organize my life.
Period.
Luckily in both jobs there is a lot of down time; sitting around either waiting (in the driving job) or just being with the guys as they watch movies. (They *love* movies.)
So I'm going to start writing both this comic and other things in those down times. One major purchase for me is going to be a notebook computer.
"What!?" you say "Why such an expense!?"
Because I loose pads of paper and I don't loose notebook computers. Call it the techie in me...
However I'm making enough money now to buy a decent one. Not totally new but not out dated either.
I'm looking at some tonight actually.
That is one way I'm going to start organizing my existence. Others include (but are not limited to)
- Keeping track of my money
- Keeping track of the hours I work (Both for pay and for myself)
- Scheduling things I need to do
- Making sure I use my time in the best possible manner; whether or not I’m working or playing.
- Get all my random notes over the last 10 or 15 years in to a digital format and then back them up.
Anyway that's a start; we will see where it goes from there.
I've already started putting a few of these into practice and am planning to start the rest as I am able.
Props must go to my aunt Rhoda who bought be a day timer for Christmas. Yes, it is finally being used..
To those who blogs I haven’t read in awhile; be patient. I’ve been both looking for work and actually working in the last few weeks.
Which is a miracle from God in itself :-D
