Okay so this day didn't go that well.
I had an accident you see; the bench I set on to use my computer decided to crash and tear apart. The wood isn't very strong (As I now know) and is (was) held together with staples. There is suppose to be a drawer underneath the seat; I guess that helped strengthen it.
Ah well... At least I have the wood lie ing around in piles to fix it.
The downside of that (Outside of the smashed seat) is that I had to figure out where to put my computer so I could use it.
I ended up turning it around in the kitchen and am currently typing away. However I had to take a couple of hours just to un hook everything, move the computer, and hook it back up.
I still don't have the speakers hooked up, but I do have a pair of headphones ;-)
I'm building a desk in my front room area; I have more want and desire to build it now then ever. Who would've thunk I'd get so much experience with wood??
As for my project?
Well I'm continuing to write a book I started a while ago. I'm still going to write the 50k words needed, however I am taking this as an opportunity finally finish the novel. I have about sixty pages left; I plan to get to around 300.
I think I wrote a page today... Yet I did read through the first part of the novel (doing my best not to edit it until I'm done with the whole thing) and found that it still holds up a bit. Much of the dialog needs to be revamped and several parts need to be rewritten; I also want to start the book a bit farther in to the story. Yet the story is there and it is compelling; the characters could be a bit less wooden but that will come in time. I don't plan on sending the book off in the shape it is in (who would?) and rewriting often does wonders ;-)
I remember showing this part to a couple of people; they loved the story. I hope the rest of the book holds up to their expectations...and holds up to my own.
I can be my own worst critic.
