Welcome to the Arid Zone - it's been a long, strange trip.

Guess what?

For the first time in my life I am getting paid for a writing project.

Not a little bit of money (Like five bucks a story you write for mom) but a competitive wage that is paid for freelance writing work.

You see a game company called Micro Forte contacted me a bit ago about reviewing a game design document for them. I said I would and was sent the necessary materials. I read through it, made my comments and sent it back to them. All in all it took about 4 hours of my time. No big deal and I enjoyed doing it.

Turns out they actually PAY people for this kind of work. Yesterday they contacted me for my bank information so they could wire the money in to my account.

Man...And they paid me well for my four hours of work. I mean I made more doing that then I do working 15 hours at my current job.

...I'm thinking I need to find more gigs like this. Plus it helps me a bit to know that someone is willing to pay me for writing.

That rocks people; I thank God for it and hope to get more jobs of this nature.
