Well it's Feb 1st now and I decided it was about time to actually do that.
My goals will be from Feb 1st of this year to Feb 1st of next year.
This might be a long post so any of you that don't like reading those, I have a video below you might like to watch :-D just click the play button.
GOALS FOR 2006. (In no particular order)
1) Random Encounters finally going live.
This should happen around the end of this month. This is one dream I've had for a couple of years and it is going to happen (yee haa!) I hope that it become very popular. However I'm not going to be going through the typical web comic portals so the traffic will have to come from places like Mindsay, other webcomic creators, and word of mouth. I don't know if I'll have ads on it or not; I'm still not sure exactly how other webcomic creators do their thing.
2) Sale two movie scripts: one for at least 100 grand.
Sounds like a pipe dream? Nah I don't think so. I have a bit o' talent plus a drive to get my life on a track where I don't have to worry about finances.
3) Turn Trailer into a movable audio/video editing bay.
I have the start to that right now; I just need to continue to work on the insides of the trailer. As my finances grow so will the quality of equipment; however the most expensive doesn't necessarily mean the best. Something I have to look in to.
4) Go on a cross country trip and get paid for writing articles on said trip.
4a) meet people I know all across the country.
In the planning stages. Excitement doesn't begin to describe my enthusiasm for this endeavor.
5) Quit Arizona Foundation for the Handicapped.
Self explanatory
6) Finish first novel and find publisher.
Yup. I can do it!
7) Buy a good laptop
One that is tough yet has all the applications I need. Preferably wide screen with a good sized hard drive and wifi capabilities. And a lot of memory.
8) Pay off trailer
I'm on a two year contract; I hope to have it paid off within a year.
9) Get car fixed and in decent shape
All I have to do to get this started is take it in. I have a benevolent benefactor that is helping me with the finances in this case.
10) Buy a suzuki bergman 650 mega scooter
OOOH I love those! Click here to see it.
11) Start practicing guitar and piano and start to write music again.
I heart music. I'd also love to learn how to mix and such to make some techno stuff.
12) Achieve financial stability and independence.
At the level I live, selling a 100 thousand dollar script will do just that. I just have to resist the urge to say, buy a new house.
13) Start small, independent gaming company with friend.
That is in the works as well
14) Make my family proud.
I want them to stop worrying about what will happen to me if they pass on.
15) Get back into shape.
I used to be once upon a time. This is something I'm working on right now... My uncle keeps emailing me and asking me if I'm still going to the Gym.
Well I guess I better start back heh
and last, but not even least
16) Strengthen my relationship with God.
I can't do any of this without Him. He picks me up when I've failed and dusts me off. He makes me realize that my goals are obtainable, even if I don't have a clue as how some will be obtained. Even when I don't speak of it, everything I do is a direct consequence of knowing the Father.
Goals, like life, tend to change. This is just a rough outline of course. I may have left somethings out or a goal that is important now maybe not be so important later. Some of these are mere things and in the end of the day material possessions aren't what makes life worth living.
However I'd still like to have the laptop and scooter; but those aren't the most important. There are personal goals I haven't put on here as well as many smaller goals that are steps to the over arching structure for the year. As you go through life you have those; small steps lead to big steps. Sometimes it isn't the goal that is worthwhile but the journey itself.
I'll keep you all updated when these goals are reached.
